28 AugSpotsylvania Getting New Cafe and Bakery Soon

A bakery and cafe will open in a few weeks in Spotsylvania County’s Bowman Center.

Kelly Hunt is making final preparations for her Mason-Dixon Cafe & Baking Co. at 3318 Bourbon St. Hunt’s husband, Nick, who is the boathouse manager at Hope Springs Marina in Stafford County, will help run the business. It will be in the former location of Nino’s Pizza Place, which has moved to Port Royal.

Hunt was born and raised in Fredericksburg, where her stepfather owns the Corky’s military surplus store. She has worked in restaurants for almost 25 years. For the past three years she worked at Wegmans as a chef and team leader at the store’s popular seafood bar. She studied culinary arts at the Art Institute of Washington.
