southpoint EDA Building Spotsylvania, VASpotsylvania County’s Economic Development Authority is seeking letters of interest from people who want to buy or lease an EDA-owned building in the Southpoint I shopping center.

The EDA has owned the 8,600-square-foot building since 2002. Some of the space is leased to an insurance company, a regional public safety non-profit, a marketing and Internet company and the county’s visitors center. The Mason Enterprise Center business incubator there recently closed.

Spotsylvania’s Board of Supervisors last month voted to have the EDA look into selling the space at 4700 Southpoint Parkway. The EDA will consider all proposals, and is looking for uses that create jobs and property taxes. The property is assessed at about $1.3 million.
