2004 CCHOAA AWARD, PRESENTED DECEMBER 8, 2004

The awardee of The C. Colburn Hardy Older Advocate Award was notified of his selection in November, 2004.  Presentation of the award was made on December 8 at the Best Practices ExCHANGE.

The award was presented by Dorcas R. Hardy, Colburn's daughter, and former Commissioner of Social Security.  Following in her father's path as an advocate for the elderly, Ms. Hardy chaired The 2005 White House Conference on Aging. 

The Selection  Committee was comprised of Ms. Hardy and several other representatives of Florida's and the nation's aging network.

 
 

2004's CCHOAA WINNER

The 2004 C. Colburn Hardy Award goes to Norm L. Bungard.

Norman Bungard is a member of the Florida Silver Haired Legislature and a consummate volunteer in his community of St. Petersburg.

Since retiring from the Social Security Administration after 34 years of service, he has contributed countless hours to educate seniors about the intricacies of federal entitlement programs, especially Medicare and Medicaid.

He has made a personal commitment to issues of guardianship and housing for seniors; his volunteer activities range from policy issues to hands-on social services.

Mr. Bungard is a well-known volunteer in Florida’s West Coast!
